Release Notes: November 12, 2025

Everything you need to know about the new QuikStor version released to the production environment on 11/12/2025.

Updated over a month ago

Whenever any new functionality or permissions are delivered in a new release, the permissions associated to the new functionality are defaulted to off for all roles. This is to ensure that we don't inadvertently enable something for a user that they should not have access to. If you can't see any of the functionality explained below in your system, please make sure to have your System Administrator turn on permissions for the specific functionality. See Roles & Permissions for more information.

We're excited to announce yet another production release! A rundown of new features, improvements, and bug fixes in this release are outlined below:

Upload Tenant Identification During Move-In

To streamline the move-in process, we have enabled the ability to upload the front and back of your tenant's identification directly in the app. This saves time by not having to circle back after the move in process to upload it to the tenant record.

You also have the ability to hide these controls, make them optional, or make them required in Field Settings as shown below:

PLEASE NOTE: This functionality has been released only for the QuikStor application. In an upcoming release, it will be extended to the Tenant Portal / Online Move-In process.

Task List Enhancements

Added Tenant and Unit to Task List Views

To make things easier on our users, we've added the tenant and unit associated to any task in the task list. Both of these are clickable so you can easily navigate to the tenant or unit/lease record.

Added Ability to Act on Tasks in Bulk

To speed marking tasks as complete, we've introduced the ability to select multiple tasks and mark them complete with a single click.

PLEASE NOTE: This functionality currently is only allowed for tasks that are assigned to you. In a future release, we will extend it to allow for the completion of tasks assigned to others. We will also deliver a permission tied to this so you can control who can act on tasks assigned to others.

SpiderDoor Integration

We've extended our list of integrated access control providers to include SpiderDoor. We're excited to welcome SpiderDoor to the QuikStor family!

eSignature Process Enhancements

As noted in our eSignatures Overview article, the legality of your eSigned documents is paramount. With this release, we've made a usability enhancement that simplifies the eSignature process while maintaining the legality of your leases.

Previously, a user was required to draw or type in their signature in a specific location on the page. While this is nice, it is not legally required. After seeing that many of our clients had multiple places where the signature would need to be applied, we saw room for improvement.

Instead of drawing/typing a signature and applying it in all places in the lease document, tenants now only need to enter their name and click to consent to the legality of the document. The result, a 100% legally enforceable document with less clicks!

Skip Lease Signing Process at Move-In

To support alternative business processes as well as some of our integration partners' approaches to capturing QuikStor leases, we've delivered the ability to skip the lease signing process at move-in.

Track Facility Owner/Legal Name

Most of the time you want the Facility Name to be included in leases and emails/SMS communications. However, in some cases, you must use the legal/owner name of the Facility. With this release, we've added the ability to include owner information if different than the facility information.

In an upcoming release, tags will be delivered so you can include this data in your documents, emails, and SMS messages.

New Reports & Report Enhancements

We've made some enhancements to existing reports and also delivered some new reports.

Facility Financial Audit Trail Report

This new report takes our Financial General Ledger Detail Report, formerly know as General Ledger, and takes it to the next level. This report provides you with every piece of information from QuikStor's transaction and accounting system so you can crunch your data any way you want.

Facility Transaction Line Item Report

This new report provides you with a complete data dump of every single transaction line item in the system and also includes the amount of each line item that was paid. The report is a useful tool to reconcile any financial data coming from your QuikStor system

Facility Transaction Line Item Payment Application Report

This new report is similar to the Facility Transaction Line Item Report. However, it shows you application of payments/waivers/credits/refunds/etc. on every line item over a specific period of time. This is a great reports for reconciling data for any third parties that you may owe money, such as taxing authorities or insurance/tenant protection providers.

Facility Payables Report

This new report gives you a snapshot, for a specific date range, your debits, credits, and net payables. This will include accounts such as Security Deposits Payable, Refunds Payable, and any Tax or Coverage Payable.

Facility Refunds Report

This new report give you the full details of all the refunds you owe any tenants. It provides a breakdown of the each refund (e.g. Rent, Coverage, Tax, etc.) so you can correctly book the transaction in your accounting system.

Cash Basis Journal Entries and Journal Entries by Day Report Modifications

Based upon the feedback received from the Accounting Teams at a number of our customers, we made some changes to these reports. Rather then providing a full dump that includes all asset, liability, revenue, and expense data as we have in the past for Cash Basis facilities, this report now shows you only the asset and net revenue account data to make your reconciliation process easier.

In order to give you a complete picture, the Payables Report and Refunds Report noted above can be used to get the complete details for Cash Basis facilities. We will publish some recommended guidelines for Cash Basis month end closing as a Help Center article in the coming weeks that will show you how to tie these reports together.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are an Accrual Basis facility, these reports remain unchanged and still provide you with the full general ledger data.

Transaction & Accounting System Enhancements

Under the hood, QuikStor has a robust transaction and accounting system that manages all financial aspects of your facility's operations. Based upon customer feedback and internal discussions, we've made a few changes that simplify things from a reporting perspective.

Invoices Are Created for Overpayments

Previously, when a tenant overpaid you for less than a full month, we did not create the next transaction. Instead, the overpayment amount was held in a Cash Basis financial account named "Unapplied Revenue." Later, when a renewal invoices was created, the unapplied amount would be applied appropriately. With this release, the system will now always create the next period invoice so that the overpayment can be immediately applied to the correct financial account.

Added General Credit Reversal Transaction Type

Previously, the system used a general debit to account for the reversal of a general credit made in error. With this release, we've introduced a new General Credit Reversal transaction type that results in always representing all revenue accounts correctly, instead of having a random "General Debit" entry to cover the general credit reversals.

Tenant Portal Enhancements

We've made the following enhancements to the Tenant Portal with this release:

  • We've enhanced the enforcement of tenant-edited user settings

  • We've redesigned transaction overview screen

  • We've redesigned reservation success page

Miscellaneous Enhancements

We've also made the following miscellaneous enhancements in this release.

  • Added a restricted list of terms that will not be able to be used for company and facility codes. This ensures that anything that might cause the system to behave unexpectedly is avoided.

  • We adjusted the notification that warns you if a payment will result in a tenant's Paid Through Date (PTD) being more than 90 days in the future.

  • We also made a number of enhancements that increase overall system performance.

General Bug Fixes & Improvements

Last, but certainly not least, we fixed a handful of issues in the software. A big thanks to all of you who reported issues so we can fix them as quickly as possible.

As always, thanks for reading about the details of this release. Our next production release is expected to be delivered in December 2025. We'll post release notes as soon as that release becomes available.
