How to waive a late fee?

This documentation explains how to waive late fees on delinquent units, including locating the transaction, submitting a waiver reason, confirming the adjustment, and understanding how the system updates balances and records changes.

Late fees are applied when a unit becomes delinquent. If your facility has a delinquency task configured to assess late fees, they will automatically be posted to the unit according to your delinquency settings.

If you need to waive a late fee, follow the steps below.


Steps to Waive a Late Fee

  1. Open the Delinquent Unit

    • Navigate to the delinquent unit from your dashboard or delinquency list.

    • You will be redirected to the unit’s Overview page.

  2. Go to the Financial Tab

    • Click on the Financial tab.

    • A list of all transactions associated with the unit will appear.

  3. Locate the Late Fee Transaction

    • Find the late fee in the transaction list.

    • Click the Eye icon next to the transaction to view its details.

  4. Waive the Charge

    • In the transaction details screen, click the Waive Charge icon.

    • A pop-up window will appear.

    • Enter the reason for waiving the late fee.

    • Click Waive Charge to confirm.


What Happens After Waiving

  • A new transaction line will be added reflecting the waived amount.

  • The unit’s balance will automatically update to reflect the adjustment.

  • The original late fee will remain in the transaction history for record keeping purposes.

Always include a clear and detailed reason when waiving a late fee to maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper audit tracking.
