Updated over 2 months ago

Move-In Links are an easy way to have the tenant complete their information on their own when they call you to move in. Rather than trying to type in all of their information, You can quickly send a move-in link via SMS or email so they can enter their information and complete the move-in on their own.

How to Send a Tenant a Move-In Link

First, start the move-in process using any available method.

Although your Field Settings may require specifics fields to be entered, you do not need to complete all of the required fields in order to send a move-in link. However, you are required to enter, at a minimum, the First Name and either the emails address or phone number to make the "Send Move-In Link" button available.

Then, click the Move-In Link button and select the appropriate option. If you entered an email, the email option will be available. If you entered a phone number, the SMS option will be available. If you entered both, both options will be available.

Sometimes self-service can be the best kind of service. With the send move in link feature, tenants have the ability to fill out their information independently and finish the move in process themselves. This is especially handy when a tenant contacts your facility or call center or in any situation where it's more convenient for them to enter their details on their own rather than having to spell everything out over the phone.

To take advantage of this feature, begin a move in process for an available unit just like you typically would. Keep in mind, the send move in link button will initially be disabled. To enable it, you must enter at least a first name and either an email or a phone number.

Even if your move in procedure requires additional fields, like a last name, to use the send move in link, you only need to input a first name and either a phone number or email address. Once the tenant receives the link, they will need to fill out other mandatory fields that you've set as required for your facility. In this example, I'll input a first name and an email address.

You'll see that the Send Move In link button is now active. Just click on the button, choose the available option, and a link will be sent to the tenant. This allows them to complete the move in process independently.
