Connect an Ingenico Card Terminal to a Computer

Learn how to physically connect an Ingenico card terminal to a Windows PC at your facility so it is ready for payment processing through the QuikStor app.

Overview

Ingenico is a payment terminal manufacturer. Their card terminals allow facility staff to process card-present payments directly through the QuikStor app, without manually entering card details into the platform.

Connecting the terminal to your PC is the first step before you can install any payment software and begin accepting card payments at your facility.

ℹ️ Info: Ingenico card terminals are only compatible with the QuikStor app. They are not supported on the Tenant Portal or through the public API.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • An Ingenico card terminal, unpacked and ready.

  • A Windows PC located at your facility.

  • The cable and power supply unit that came with your terminal.

  • A stand adaptor, if required by your terminal model.

Step 1: Position the Terminal

Position the terminal before connecting any cables. Correct positioning protects the device and keeps tenant PIN entry secure.

  1. Place the terminal in a location with easy access to an electrical outlet.

  2. Keep the terminal away from heat sources, dust, and electromagnetic interference.

  3. Position the terminal so that tenants can tilt or swivel it when entering their PIN. The keypad must not be visible to bystanders or security cameras.

Step 2: Connect the Terminal to Your PC

Connect the Ingenico card device to your Windows PC through a port located on the back of the terminal.

  1. Make sure the power supply is unplugged before connecting any cables.

  2. Flip the terminal to access the port on the back.

  3. Connect the cable to the terminal.

  4. Connect the other end of the cable to your PC.

  5. Connect the power supply unit to the cable.

  6. Plug the power supply into the electrical outlet.

Step 3: Mount the Terminal on a Stand

If your terminal model requires a stand adaptor, mount it before processing payments. Mounting the terminal on the stand takes only a few seconds.

  1. Hold the terminal above the stand adaptor.

  2. Slide the terminal down onto the adaptor until you hear a click.

The terminal is now securely mounted and connected to your computer. The next logical step is setting up Elavon Card Terminal payments.
