Set Up Auto Coverage Assignment for Expired Private Coverage

Learn how to configure automatic coverage assignment for tenants whose private insurance has expired.

Overview

Auto Coverage Assignment automatically applies a Coverage Plan to a tenant a set number of days after private coverage expires.

At move-in, some tenants provide a private insurance policy. Once that coverage expires, Auto Coverage Assignment automatically switches the tenant to the facility's coverage plan.

The feature is configured at the Corporate level, one facility at a time.

Prerequisites

  • At least one Coverage Plan exists at the Corporate level and is assigned to the facility.

  • Read Auto Coverage Settings and Update Auto Coverage Settings permissions at the Corporate level.

ℹ️ Info: Some options from this article may be hidden or disabled if your account does not have the required permission. Contact your administrator to request access.

Step 1: Switch to the Corporate Level

Auto Coverage Assignment belongs to the Corporate level, so start there.

  1. Open the Facility Switcher at the top of the page.

  2. Select Corporate.

The Facility Switcher at the top of the page with Corporate selected.

Step 2: Open the Auto Coverage Assignment Page

The Coverage menu holds the Auto Coverage Assignment page.

  1. Click Coverage in the left-side menu.

The Coverage item in the left-side menu.

  2. Select Auto Coverage Assignment.

The Coverage menu expanded, showing the Auto Coverage Assignment option below List and Assignment.

The Auto Coverage Assignment page opens.

Step 3: Select a Facility

Auto Coverage Assignment is set per facility, so choose the facility first.

  1. Select a facility from the tabs at the top of the page.

The facility tabs at the top of the Auto Coverage Assignment page, with the first facility selected.

ℹ️ Info: If the company has more than five facilities, the facility list moves to the left side. It appears as a vertical list between the side menu and the Auto Coverage Assignment page, instead of tabs at the top.

ℹ️ Info: A blue line under a facility name indicates that the facility is selected.

Step 4: Configure the Auto Coverage Assignment

The following two fields define when and which plan applies.

  1. In the Days After Private Coverage Expires field, specify how many days to wait before automatically assigning a Coverage Plan.

  2. From the Coverage Plan dropdown, select a coverage plan that applies after private coverage expiration.

The Days after private coverage expires field and, to its right, the Coverage Plan dropdown on the Auto Coverage Assignment page.

ℹ️ Info: If the Coverage Plan dropdown shows no options, no coverage plan is yet assigned to the facility.

Step 5: Assign the Coverage Plan

Assigning saves the rule for the selected facility.

  1. Click Assign in the top-right corner of the page.

The Assign button in the top-right corner of the Auto Coverage Assignment page.

Done! You have successfully set the Auto Coverage Assignment for your facility.

QuikStor now assigns the selected Coverage Plan automatically once a tenant's private coverage expires.
