Whenever any new functionality or permissions are delivered in a new release, the permissions associated to the new functionality are defaulted to off for all roles. This is to ensure that we don't inadvertently enable something for a user that they should not have access to. If you can't see any of the functionality explained below in your system, please make sure to have your System Administrator turn on permissions for the specific functionality. See Roles & Permissions for more information.
We're excited to announce yet another production release. A rundown of new features, improvements, and bug fixes are outlined below:
New AI Driven Help Center & Support System
We've implemented a new, AI-enabled Help & Support System! AI doesn't mean you won't be able to speak to a real person. In fact, it makes it a lot easier to speak to a real person directly form the QuikStor interface.
Additionally, our AI agent, QuikBot never sleeps. It will search all of our help and support documentation to answer your questions any time, day or night.
As part of this rollout, we will begin to post Release Notes (like this article) to our Help & Support Center so you will always be aware of what's new in QuikStor!
OpenTech CIA Access Control Integration
We've added OpenTech CIA to our long list of access control integrations. We're excited to partner with OpenTech. Expect to see more announcements as we work with the OpenTech team to integrate many solutions they offer with QuikStor. You can learn more about their CIA Access Control here.
Leads and Unit Groups Screen User Interface Overhaul
You spoke, we listened! We gathered feedback from many users who expressed the desire for a more flexible interface and the ability to take more actions when working with Leads or on the Unit Groups screen.
Unit Groups Screen Enhancements
We've added the following functionality:
View which specials are available to Units associated with the Unit Group.
Ability to quickly reserve an available unit in that group (instead of manually having to select a unit).
Ability to quickly start a move-in for an available unit in that group (instead of manually having to select a unit).
Lead Screen Enhancements
We updated the Lead Creation and Lead View Screens to better accommodate a full view of unit inventory available at your facility. You will still be able to add active interest in specific units groups. Now, you can also see all unit group inventory on all lead screens. In both cases, you can easily kick off a reservation or move-in directly from the lead screen.
We've added the ability to send Email and SMS messages to the lead directly from the Leads list in addition to the existing ability to start a reservation, start a move-in, or close the lead.
Elavon Token Import
Changing property management systems can be a pain if you can't take your saved credit card data with you. For those using Elavon as a credit card payment processor, you can now import your saved payment methods stored in your old system and bring them into QuikStor!
Current Delinquency Stage on Lease Overview Screen
We've added the currently delinquency stage for delinquent leases on the Unit/Lease Overview screen.
Report Updates
We've made some enhancements to a couple of reports, as outlined below:
Added a Deduction Table to the Management Report
Added Totals to the bottom of the Daily Snapshot Report
Added End User & Unit Links to Movement Analysis and Lease Vehicle Information Reports
Consistent with other reports in QuikStor, these enhancements allow you to quickly open the tenant or unit record in a new browser tab directly from the report.
Updates to the QuikStor Electronic Signature Disclosure Agreement and Terms of Service
Legality of the agreement is always paramount when it comes to eSignatures. In order to be compliant with the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UTEA) and the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (eSign Act), which ensure that your electronically signed leases will stand up in court, we consistently review our eSign process and related user agreements to ensure we maintain compliance.
In this release, we updated the consent links for our QuikStor Electronic Signature Disclosure Agreement and QuikStor Terms of Service to ensure that you'll be covered if a tenant ever claims that thei eSignature is not legally binding.
API Documentation Updates
We are consistent adding new API endpoints to allow you and your vendors easy access to integrate with your QuikStor System. In this release, we updated our API Documentation to allow developers to more easily understand the API and integrate with QuikStor.
Search & Filter Added to Multiple Lists
We updated search and/or filtering capability for the following interface lists:
Added search to the Custom Triggers List in the Corporate Panel
Added detailed filters to the In Place Rates List view in the Revenue Management menu in the Facility Panel.
Added the Facility Time Zone on the Communication Setting View
Your SMS communication settings allow you to define the hours that SMS messages will be sent. After all, you don't want to send text messages at 2:00 AM! Some users who have facilities in different time zones asked us to include the facility time zone on the Communication Setting page. Therefore, we delivered it in this release.
System Terminology Changes
To keep our terminology consistent across the system, and based on feedback from many of our users, we have updated the names of several items. These changes are designed to make the system easier to understand and more intuitive. The updated naming conventions are:
Unit Type → Unit Group
Global Unit Type → Category
Effective Rates → In Place Rates
Inside/Outside → Locality
Document Center → Print Center
Square Footage → Area
We will use these updated terms moving forward.
Bug Fixes
Although we strive for perfection and invest heavily in Quality Assurance, bugs are a fact of life in the software world. Thanks to all of our customers and team members for reporting them. We fixed the following bugs in this release:
5 Minute Report: Daily Payments was showing the date the report was run instead of date report was generated for.
Clicking a Past Lease on the Units->Past Leases tab was taking no action. It now loads the past lease, as intended.
Corrected the missing Total Collections display on the Daily Snapshot Report.
Corrected the issue where certain JPG files could not be uploaded to a tenant record.
Red/green color of a tenant balance on the tenant screen was inverted. It now shows correctly (red if they owe, green if they paid ahead).
Fixed issue where a user without permission could exclude a lease from delinquency. The ability to do so is not visible on the unit/lease screen if the permission if not granted.
Corrected the issue where some Google Tag Manager events were not firing on certain actions in the Tenant Portal.
Addressed the issue where certain system links (e.g. eSignature URL, Tenant Portal URL) in SMS and email communication were being sent with an additional HTTP or HTTPS identifier, which sent the user to an invalid URL.
Corrected the issue where certain unit attributes were being excluded in the CSV export of the Street Rates By Unit Group Report.
Thanks for reading about the details of this release. Our next Production Release will be delivered in the first half of September 2025. We'll post release notes as soon as that release is available.
