How to Set Up a Lead Creation Date Custom Trigger to Send a Document

Learn how to create a Lead Creation Date custom trigger that automatically sends a document after a lead is created.

Overview

This article walks you through creating a Lead Creation Date custom trigger that automatically sends a document to an end user's home address a set number of days after the lead is created. By the end of this article, you will be able to configure and save this trigger from the Corporate level.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm the following:

  • A document template with trigger type Lead Created exists at the Corporate level.

  • Under the Trigger section, you have Create, Read, Edit, and Assign permissions enabled at the Corporate level (Corporate level > Users > Roles&Permissions > [Your Role] > Corporate tab > Trigger section with Create, Read, Edit, and Assign permissions enabled).

  • An end user has a home address listed in their info. Otherwise, you won't be able to select a document in the Print Center and send it to the mail house.

Step 1: Open the Add New Custom Trigger Drawer

Navigate to the Triggers page at the Corporate level and open the drawer used to create a new custom trigger.

  1. Navigate to the Corporate level.

  2. Select Triggers from the sidebar menu.

  3. From the Triggers' drop-down menu, select List. The Triggers page loads displaying all existing triggers.

  4. Click the Add New button in the top right corner. The Add New Custom Trigger drawer opens.

Step 2: Configure the Trigger Details

Name the trigger and set its type and status before defining when and how it sends.

  1. Under Trigger Type, select Lead Creation Date.

  2. Enter a name for the trigger in the Name field (e.g., Lead Created).

  3. Confirm the Trigger Status, which is set to Active by default.

ℹ️ Info: Description field is optional.

Step 3: Set the Trigger Rule

This step covers defining how many days after lead creation the document is sent.

  1. Under Trigger Rule, enter the number of days after lead creation you want the document sent (e.g., enter 1 to send the document the following day).

ℹ️ Info: The value entered for Days after must be greater than or equal to 1.

Step 4: Select the Document and Save

Choose the delivery method and document template, then save the custom trigger.

  1. Select the Send Document radio button.

  2. Under Select Document Template, choose a template previously created in the Templates section from the sidebar menu.

  3. Click Add Custom Trigger. The message "Custom Trigger Lead Created created successfully." appears.
