The Unit Filter Bar is the toolbar at the top of the List of All Units page that lets you narrow down a long list of units into the exact subset you need.
It combines a search field, grouped filters, and saved preferences so you can answer everyday questions like "which 10×10 units are vacant?" or "which tenants are past due this month?" without leaving the page.
It is built for facility staff who manage day-to-day operations and need fast, repeatable views of unit data.
Interacting With the Unit Filter Bar
Before you begin narrowing down the unit list, it helps to understand a few behaviors that shape how the Unit Filter Bar responds to your actions.
Responsive Layout
The Unit Filter Bar is responsive, so the number of visible filters depends on the size of your screen. The layout may differ across different devices, such as a desktop, laptop, or tablet.
Small screens
Medium screens
Large screens
Filters that do not fit on the row move into the More Filters panel and remain fully usable from there. In other words, filters that are not visible on small and medium screens are pushed into the More Filters panel.
Active Filter Color
When you select a value in a filter, the Unit Filter Bar turns the filter name blue. The blue label signals at a glance that the filter is narrowing the list, even when the dropdown is closed.
Scan the Unit Filter Bar for blue names to see which filters are active without opening each one.
Selected Damaged filter
ℹ️ The Active filter is set to Yes by default and appears in blue on the Unit Filter Bar.
Filter Values Combination
When you set values in more than one filter, the Unit Filter Bar combines them so that a unit must match every filter value to appear in the list.
Inside a single filter, you can check one or multiple values. If you check one value, the List All Units shows only units that match that value. However, checking multiple values does the opposite: units that fit any of the checked values.
For example, checking Status = Vacant and Status = Occupied returns all units that are either vacant or occupied.
Listing Vacant and Occupied units at the same time
Checking both Yes and No on the same filter returns every unit, because both values match. For example, Damaged = Yes and Damaged = No together return damaged and non-damaged units, which is the full list.

ℹ️ Info: Leave one box checked under a filter to narrow down the list and get more specific results.
The Unit Filter Bar Components
This section describes each filter component from left to right, starting with the Unit Search and ending with the Reset Filter icon.

The Search Field
The Search Field on the far left of the Unit Filter Bar accepts Unit Number values only. Therefore, you cannot search by Tenant, Unit Group, Street Rate, or any criteria.
For example, searching for "a11" returns every unit whose number begins with "a11" (for example, A11, A111, A112, and so on).
Searching Units by Unit Number in the Search filter
⚠️ Warning: Searching by Tenant, Unit Group, or any non-unit-number value through the Search Field filter returns a No results found message, even when matching units exist on the page.
For example, typing "Alicia Tyler" into the Search Field returns no results, even when a tenant named Alicia Tyler occupies unit #A11.

Filters: Statuses, Attributes, and Lease Details
The filters on the Unit Filter Bar are grouped into three logical categories:
Unit Information & Attributes (physical characteristics of a unit).
Unit Statuses (the current state of a unit).
Lease Details (financial and timing data tied to a lease).
Recognizing these categories makes the Unit Filter Bar easier to scan and easier to use.
Filtering by Unit Information & Attributes
The Unit Information & Attributes filters describe the physical unit itself - its size, shape, location within a building, and equipment. These filters are most useful when a prospect or tenant has specific requirements, and staff need to find every unit that matches.
Filter | What it returns | Selection style |
Unit Group | Units assigned to the chosen Unit Group(s) | Checkbox list with search |
Class | Units of class Economy, Standard, or Premium | Checkbox list |
Dimension | Units of a specific WxL footprint (for example, 10×10) | Checkbox list with search |
Category | Units of category Locker, Parking, Mailbox, Office, Billboard, Antenna, Wine Storage, or Storage | Checkbox list |
Area | Units inside a chosen area range | Numeric range input |
For example, when a Prospect asks for a 11×30 parking unit, you can set Dimension to 11×30 and Category to Parking.

Filtering by Unit Statuses
The Unit Status filters describe the operational state of a unit at the moment you select their values. These filters help you find units that need attention or units you can act on right now.
Status-based filters
Filter | Available values | What each value means |
Status | Vacant, Reserved, Company, Occupied, Unavailable | The rental state of a unit |
Active | Yes, No | Whether a unit is in service |
Damaged | Yes, No | Whether a unit is flagged as damaged |
Rentable | Yes, No | Whether a unit can currently be rented |
Delinquent | Yes, No | Whether an occupying tenant is past due |
ℹ️ Info: QuikStor does not delete units. A unit removed from active service is set to Active = No, not deleted. Use the Active filter to include or exclude these inactive units.
For example, if you want to get the current list of delinquent tenants, set Status = Occupied and Delinquent = Yes. The list returns every occupied unit with a past-due tenant.
Filtering Occupied Delinquent units
To prioritize maintenance work, set Damaged = Yes and Status = Vacant to surface damaged units you can repair and re-rent immediately.

Filtering by Lease Details
The Lease Details filters target financial and timing data tied to the lease on the unit. These filters open as small popups with date or amount ranges.
Lease-based filters
Filter | Input type | What it returns |
PTD (Paid Through Date) | Date From + Date To | Units whose tenant is paid through a date in the chosen range |
In Place Rate | Rate From + Rate To | Units rented at a rate within the chosen amount range |
Move-In Date | Date From + Date To | Units where the active lease started inside the chosen date range |
For instance, to welcome recent tenants, set the Move-In Date to a range covering the past 30 days; the list returns every tenant who moved in during that time range for follow-up calls or welcome emails.

The More Filters Panel
The More Filters dropdown sits on the right side of the Unit Filter Bar and opens a panel of additional attribute filters. It is not a separate filter - it is part of the Unit Filter Bar, which means any filter that does not fit on the Unit Filter Bar (small and medium screens) appears here instead.
The More Filters Panel structure on large screens
On larger screens, such as a desktop or laptop, the panel typically holds filters like Width, Length, Height, Climate Controlled, Floor, Locality, Door Type, and the Other group.
ℹ️ Info: The More Filters panel reads any values you have already selected on the visible part of the Unit Filter Bar, so both parts of the bar reflect the same filter set.
For example, if you set Status = Vacant on the visible Unit Filter Bar and then open the panel to set Climate Controlled = Cooled, clicking Apply narrows the list to units that are both vacant and cooled. The panel does not replace the visible selection - it adds to it.
Finding units that are both Vacant and Cooled
ℹ️ Info: The Unit Filter Bar updates the List of All Units dynamically - values apply the moment you select them. The More Filters panel works differently - filters pushed into the panel do not affect the list until you click Apply.
Download List
The down-arrow icon to the right of More Filters lets you download the current filtered list as a file. It is not a generic export - it captures exactly what the unit list shows on screen, so any filters you have set carry into the file.
Clicking the download icon opens a small menu with three options. Explore the options in the table below.
Format | Best for |
Download as CSV | Importing into other systems or further data work in a spreadsheet tool |
Download as XLSX | Sharing as a formatted spreadsheet, with column headers preserved |
Download as PDF | Sending a fixed, read-only snapshot to a manager or external party |
Each downloaded file includes the same columns: Unit, Status, Tenant, Category, Unit Group, Class, Available for Rental Online, Available for Reservation Online, Street Rate, In Place Rate, and PTD. The PDF additionally shows the generation date and time at the top.
For example, to identify covered units that are in service but not currently available to rent, open the More Filters panel and set Covered = Yes, set Rentable = No. The list narrows to active, covered, non-rentable units - typically a small set worth investigating. Download the list as a PDF to share the findings with the operations team.

Save Filter
The gear icon to the left of the X opens the Filter & Sort Preferences menu with two options: Save and Reset. Click Save to store the current filter combination. A small green check mark appears on the gear icon immediately after saving, which is the visual confirmation that an active filter set is stored.
Save Filter collects values from any active filter
Saved filter preferences are stored per user - other staff members at the same facility do not see your saved combination.
Every value you select stays selected for the duration of the session, even without saving, but a saved preference is what carries the filter combination across sessions.
⚠️Warning: When the gear icon shows a green check mark, the List of All Units page is filtered - not complete. To see every unit at the facility, click Reset in the gear icon menu before relying on the list for counts or reports.
Reset Filter
To return the Unit Filter Bar to its default state, you have two options:
Click the X at the far right of the Unit Filter Bar to clear filters for the current session only.
Clearing current filter values with the X icon
Open the gear icon menu and click Reset to clear the saved preference as well.
Clearing filter values and saved preferences with the Reset option
The X action is a quick clear that lasts until you leave the page. The Reset action inside the gear menu is the full undo - it removes both the current selection and any saved combination, returning the List of All Units to its default view.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I search by tenant name from the Unit Filter Bar?
No. The Unit Search on the Unit Filter Bar accepts Unit Number values only.
Do filters stay applied if I leave and come back to the page?
Filters stay applied for the duration of the session. To preserve a filter combination across sessions, open the gear icon menu and click Save. A green check mark on the gear icon confirms the saved preference is active. Saved preferences are stored per user.
Why does the unit count look smaller than I expected?
The most common reason is an active saved filter. Open the gear icon menu and click Reset to clear the preference and return the List of All Units to its complete state.
Are More Filters values combined with the visible filters?
Yes. Once you click Apply in the More Filters panel, those values join the visible filters, and a unit must match every active filter to appear in the list.
Can I filter by more than one Unit Group at once?
Yes. The Unit Group filter is a checkbox list, so you can select several Unit Groups. The list returns every unit assigned to any of the selected groups.
What file formats can I download the filtered list in?
Three formats are supported: CSV, XLSX, and PDF. Each file contains exactly the unit set shown on screen after your filters are applied.
