Create a Google Analytics Account to Track Website & Tenant Portal Activity

Sign in with your Google user. If you do not yet have one, you will need to create an account before proceeding.

Click "Start Measuring"

Google will now guide you through the setup process for a Google Analytics account. We've added basic configuration notes for users new to analytics users.

Account Creation

  1. If you have a parent company that does or plans to own multiple separate facilities or businesses, typically you will want to enter the name of the parent company here. If you only have one facility, enter the facility name here.

    Note: This is only used internally for your own reference. It is not displayed publicly anywhere.

  2. Check or uncheck data sharing services as you see fit. In this example, we have left the default items selected.

  3. Click "Next"

Property Creation

Next you will fill out details for the property. If you have multiple individually branded properties, start with one now and you can go back later and add the others.

  1. This is typically the facility name.

  2. Set the country and time zone at the local facility. This ensures accurate reporting.

  3. Set your currency

  4. Click Next when you are done.

Business Details

In this section you'll set the business details.

  1. Industry Category - For most self storage and parking facilities, "Real Estate" is typically a good answer, however, feel free to select the option that best fits your business.

  2. Business Size - Set whichever value best fits.

  3. Click "Next" to continue.

Business Objectives

In this section, Google is trying to understand how you will use analytics. You can select any of the options that best apply to you. When creating accounts, we typically select the top four options.

You must select at least one option and then "Create" to continue.

Data Collection

On this screen, Google is giving you ways to collect data on your website. Click "Skip for Now"

Click "Continue to Home"

Configure Email Communication

On this screen, you can configure the types of communications you want to receive from Google. You are not required to select any items, however, you may find "Performance Suggestions and Updates" helpful if you are new to the Google Analytics platform. Once you have made your selection, click "Save".
