Creating a GA4 Tracking Tag in Google Tag Manager

Adding a Tag for the Website Data Stream

Create a New Tag by click "Add a new tag" from the Overview menu.

Name the tag "Google Tag | GA4 | Website Pageview" and then select "Tag Configuration"

Select Google Tag as the Tag Type

Now we need the Google Analytics Measurement Id from Google Analytics.

You'll have one measurement ID for your website, and one for your tenant portal. Have each ready before proceeding to the next steps.

Click the "+" sign to add a new variable

Name the variable "GA4 | Measurement ID | Website"

Click into Variable Configuration. Select "Constant"

Paste in your Measurement ID as the Value.

Click Save

Click Save again to save the tag.

Adding a Tag for the Tenant Portal Data Stream

Create a New Tag by click "Add a new tag" from the Overview menu.

Name the tag "Google Tag | GA4 | Tenant Portal Pageview" and then select "Tag Configuration"

Select Google Tag as the Tag Type

Now we need the Google Analytics Measurement Id for the Tenant Portal from Google Analytics.

Click the "+" sign to add a new variable

Name the variable "GA4 | Measurement ID | Tenant Portal"

Click into Variable Configuration. Select "Constant"

Paste in your Measurement ID as the Value.

Click Save

Click Save again to save the tag.
