Reserve a Unit

Learn how to reserve a unit for a tenant or prospect directly from the Unit Overview page in QuikStor.

This article explains how to reserve a vacant unit for a tenant or prospect using the QuikStor application. A reservation holds a unit for a specific person until a set date, giving facility staff time to complete the Move-In process.

Prerequisites

  • Reserve Unit (Lease) permission at the Facility level.

  • The unit must be vacant and active.

Step 1: Open the Facility Switcher

Confirm you are working in the correct facility before opening the unit.

  1. Use the Facility Switcher to find a facility in which you want to reserve a unit.

  2. Type a Unit Number in the Search Facility Input to find that unit.

šŸ’” Tip: The Unit Number is the unique identifier of a unit within a facility. Use it in the facility search input to quickly locate a specific unit.

Step 2: Open the Reservation Panel

Start the reservation from the Unit Overview page.

  1. Make sure you are on the Unit Overview tab.

  2. Click the Reserve button in the top-right corner of the Unit Overview page. The Reservation panel opens on the right side of the screen.

Step 3: Select a Lead Source

Record how the tenant or prospect found your facility.

  1. Click the Lead Source dropdown.

  2. Select one of the available options. For example, Friend/Relative.

Step 4: Set the Reservation End Date

Define how long the unit is held.

  1. Click the Reserved Until field.

  2. Enter the date until which the unit is held for this person. The reservation expires after this date.

šŸ’” Tip: By default, a unit can be reserved for up to 7 days. To allow longer or shorter reservations, adjust the limit from Settings > Reservations at the Facility level.

Step 5: Select a Tenant or Prospect

Click the Search for Tenants or Prospects field and attach the unit reservation to the right person.

  1. Click the search field.

  2. Type a tenant or prospect name you want to assign the reservation to.

  3. Select the correct person from the results dropdown.

  4. Click Reserve a Unit to complete the reservation.

ā„¹ļø Info: The result card displays the person's phone number and email address so you can contact them directly if needed.

Step 6: Add a New Prospect from the Reservation Panel

If the person is not yet in the system, add them as a prospect directly from the Reservation panel without leaving the reservation flow.

  1. Click Add Prospect next to Not in the System below the search field. The Reservation panel expands downward and displays the Tenant Information section.

  2. Enter the prospect's First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Company Name in the remaining fields.

  3. Click Add Prospect & Reserve a Unit at the bottom of the panel.

ā„¹ļø Info: Add Prospect & Reserve a Unit completes both actions at once - the prospect is added, and the reservation is created. No follow-up search is needed.

šŸ’” Tip: If the person is already in the system, click Search for Prospect or Tenant at the bottom of the Tenant Information section to return to the search field.

The unit status changes from Vacant to Reserved. The Unit Overview page now displays the reservation details, including the Reserved Until date and the name of the person the unit is reserved for.
