Edit a Unit

Learn how to edit a unit's information and attributes from the Unit Setup page.

Overview

A unit's information and attributes are set when a unit is first created, but they can be updated at any time from the Unit Setup page. Editing a unit lets facility staff correct unit information or attributes.

Prerequisites

  • The unit exists at a facility.

Step 1: Navigate to the List of All Units Page

The List of All Units page displays every unit at the selected facility.

  1. Open the Facility Switcher in the top bar and select a facility that contains the unit you want to edit.

  2. Click Units in the left sidebar to open the List of All Units page.

Step 2: Choose a Unit You Want to Edit

Each unit has a dedicated Setup page where you can edit its information and attributes.

  1. Click the Unit Number of a unit you want to edit (for example, #A10). The Unit Overview page opens.

  2. Click the Setup tab at the top of the page.

Step 3: Open the Edit Unit Window

The Edit Unit feature comes with unit edit fields.

  1. Click Edit Unit in the upper-right corner of the Setup page.

  2. The Edit window opens with the Unit Information and Attributes sections.

Step 4: Update the Unit Information

The Edit Unit window contains two groups of fields that can be changed independently or together.

  1. Update any field under Unit Information - Category, Unit Group, Unit Number, Street Rate, and Unit Class.

  2. Once you have entered new values, go to the Attribute section.

ℹ️ Info: Any value entered in a field overwrites the existing value for that unit. Fields left unchanged keep their current values.

⚠️ Warning: Entering a Unit Number that is already in use by another unit at a facility triggers an error, and the change is not saved. The Unit Number must always be unique within a facility.

Step 5: Update and Save Unit Attributes

The Attributes section holds the physical and feature-level characteristics of the unit.

  1. Update any field under Attributes - Width, Length, Height, Door Width, Door Height, Door Type, Locality, Door Count, Floor, Covered, Climate Controlled, Near Elevator, Drive-Up Access, Bottle Capacity, Furnished, Power, Lighting, Alarm, Area, Conversion Type, Monitoring, and Smart Lock.

  2. Click Save Unit in the lower-right corner of the Edit window.

ℹ️ Info: Unit edits do not affect a current tenant. The current tenant continues under the terms that were in place when their lease started. The updated values take effect for the next tenant after the current tenant moves out.
