Overview
Flagged Notes are commonly used to call attention to urgent issues that need to be resolved on a unit, such as a broken lock, an overdue inspection, or a tenant-related concern that staff should see right away.
When a staff member opens the Unit Overview page, the note appears as a pop-up that shows the unit status, note content, and a button to close the note and continue working.
In this article, we show you how to locate the feature and add a Flagged Note to a Unit.
Prerequisites
The unit exists at the facility.
Step 1: Open the Unit
Start at the main Dashboard and navigate to the unit that needs a Flagged Note.
Click the Facility Switcher at the top of your page and select a facility.
Click Units in the left sidebar to open the List of All Units page.
Locate the unit in the List of All Units page.
Click the Unit Number to open the Unit Overview page.
ℹ️ Info: A Flagged Note can be added to a unit in any state - Occupied, Vacant, Delinquent, or Company.
Step 2: Locate the Flagged Note section
The Flagged Note section is located on the right side of the Unit Overview page, below the Damaged and Rentable features.
Locate the Flagged Note section on the right side of the Overview page.
Check the section's current state. If no note has been added yet, the section shows There is no flagged note, which means the Flagged Note is available to be added.
ℹ️ Info: Every unit can have one Flagged Note at a time.
Step 3: Enter the Flagged Note
In this step, you will expand the Flagged Note section and reveal a text box for the Flagged Note.
In the Flagged Note section, click Add New Note. The text box shows.
Enter the message in the text box that describes the issue.
💡Tip: Keep the note short and specific. Facility staff will see this message as a pop-up every time the unit is opened, so a short description is more effective than a long paragraph.
Step 4: Save the Flagged Note
Once saved, the Flagged Note appears as a pop-up every time a staff member opens the unit at this facility.
Click Save.
Confirm that the Flagged Note section now displays the note content instead of 'There is no flagged note'.
Step 5: Verify the Flagged Note on the Unit
The Flagged Note triggers every time the unit is opened, so reopening it is the fastest way to see exactly what staff will see going forward.
Locate and click on the unit on the List of All Units Page.
Confirm that the Flagged Note pop-up appears, displaying the current tenant and the note content.
Click Close & Continue to dismiss the Note and continue working on the unit.
ℹ️ Info: The Flagged Note pop-up displays the note content and a Close & Continue button. If the unit is vacant, the pop-up shows the unit number and a Vacant badge. If the unit has a tenant, it shows the tenant's photo, name, and a Current Tenant badge.
