Enable a Unit for Move-In

Learn how to configure a unit with a delinquency template and coverage so the Move-In feature becomes available.

Overview

When a unit is created, the Move-In button is disabled until the unit is configured. A unit becomes eligible for Move-In only after a Delinquency Template and Coverage are assigned on its Setup tab.

This article explains how to complete both assignments so the unit is ready to accept a tenant.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Navigate to the Unit

Start from a facility that contains a unit you want to enable for Move-In.

  1. Select a facility where the unit is located.

Facility Switcher at the top of the page with a facility selected.

  2. Click Units in the left side panel. The List of All Units page opens.

List of All Units page open, with Units selected in the left side panel.

  3. Enter the Unit Number in the Unit Input Search. The selected unit appers bellow the input.

  4. Click the Unit Number to access the unit.

List of All Units page with a unit searched by number and the matching unit shown in the results.

  5. Click the Setup tab.

Unit Setup tab showing the red dot.

ℹ️Info: A red dot on the Setup tab indicates that the unit is missing the required configuration.

Step 2: Assign a Delinquency Template

The Delinquency Template automates the late payment process for a tenant assigned to this unit.

  1. Locate the Delinquency Template section on the right side of the Setup page.

  2. Click Assign Template.

Setup tab of the unit showing the Delinquency Template panel with No Delinquency Template Assigned and the Assign Template link.

  3. Click the + icon to assign a delinquency template from the Delinquency Templates list.

Assign Delinquency Template window with the Delinquency Templates list and the plus icon to add a template.

  4. Click Save Changes.

Assign Delinquency Template window showing one template under Assigned Delinquency Template and the Save Changes button.

ℹ️ Info: Only one delinquency template can be assigned at a time.

Step 3: Assign Coverage

Coverage protects a tenant's stored items and is the second requirement to enable Move-In.

  1. On the left side of the Setup page, scroll down to the Coverage section.

  2. Click the + icon next to Coverage. The Assign Coverage window opens.

Assign Coverage window with the Move-In Requests toggles for Online and Onsite move-in.

  3. Under Move-In Requests, set the toggles based on when Coverage should be required.

  4. Select one or more coverage plans from the Unassigned Coverage Plans by clicking the plus icon.

Assign Coverage window with two plans under Assigned Coverage Plans and one plan under Unassigned Coverage Plans.

  5. Mark one Plan as the Default Plan.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Assign Coverage window with a plan marked Default under Assigned Coverage Plans and the Save Changes button.

ℹ️ Info: Required for Online Move-In applies to move-ins through the Tenant Portal and the public API. Required for Onsite Move-In applies only to move-ins completed in the QuikStor app.

💡Tip: If both Move-In Requests toggles are off, click Save Changes without selecting a plan. Coverage assignment is treated as satisfied, and the Move-In button becomes enabled once the Delinquency Template is assigned.

⚠️ Warning: Assigning a Delinquency Template and Coverage enables the Move-In button on a unit. To complete a Move-In, you must also configure payment settings at the Corporate level.
