Overview
The Desirability Rank is a positive number that indicates how desirable a unit is. The lowest number is the most desirable, and higher numbers are less desirable. QuikStor uses the rank to sort units and assist with pricing decisions.
The Conversion Type converts a unit from its standard physical form into a different unit type. It has two values:
Actual - the default. This is a standard physical unit.
Virtual - combines two bordering physical units into a single unit when a Prospect needs more space than either unit provides on its own.
This article explains how to set Desirability Ranks and Conversion Types for many units at once using a CSV template imported from the List of All Units page.
Prerequisites
Units that will receive a Desirability Rank and different Conversion Types already exist at a facility.
Step 1: Navigate to the List of All Units Page
To start importing Desirability Ranks in bulk, navigate to the List of All Units page.
Select a facility using the Facility Switcher.
Click Units in the side menu. The List of All Units page opens and displays every unit at the selected facility.
Step 2: Download the Unit Desirability Rank Template
The Unit Desirability Rank Template lists every unit at the facility along with its full set of attributes and states. For this import, only the DesirabilityRank and ConversionType columns are relevant.
Click the Export icon (down arrow) in the upper-right corner of the List of All Units page.
Click Unit Desirability Rank in the Export Templates dropdown. The CSV file is downloaded to your device.
Step 3: Review the Unit Desirability Rank Template
The downloaded template contains many columns, but only the following are relevant for this import. Other columns can be left as they are.
Column | Required for Validation | Accepted Values |
Unit Number | Yes | The unique number of an existing unit at the facility. |
DesirabilityRank | No | A positive number. The lowest number is the most desirable. |
ConversionType | No | Virtual or Actual. Leave empty for a standard unit (Actual). |
⚠️Warning: Do not modify the Unit Number column. The system uses this value to match each row to an existing unit. If a Unit Number is missing or changed, the row fails validation, and the import cannot be completed.
Step 4: Fill in the Unit Desirability Rank Template
Enter a Desirability Rank for each unit that should be ranked.
Enter a positive integer in the DesirabilityRank column for each unit (for example, 1 for the most desirable unit).
Leave the DesirabilityRank cell empty for any unit that should not be ranked.
Click Save to confirm the changes.
💡Tip: The same rank can be assigned to multiple units.
Step 5: Upload the Template
Once the template is filled in, upload it from the List of All Units page.
Click the Import Data icon (up arrow) in the upper-right corner of the List of All Units page.
Click Unit Desirability Rank in the Import Data dropdown.
In the Import Data pop-up window, drag the CSV file into the upload area or click Browse to select it from the device.
Click Upload File. The system opens a preview screen in QuikStor, showing every row in the file.
Step 6: Review the Imported Unit Desirability Ranks
The preview screen displays each row with its unit attributes, Conversion Type, and Desirability Rank. Use this screen to verify values and correct errors before completing the import.
Review the Desirability Rank column for each row.
Click any Desirability Rank cell to change the value directly in the preview.
Click the minus icon at the end of a row to remove that row from the import.
ℹ️ Info: The Conversion Type column is read-only during import. Existing values are preserved, but new values cannot be set or changed from this template.
Step 7: Complete the Import
Once all values are correct, complete the import:
Click Upload CSV in the lower-right corner of the preview screen.
In the Approve Unit Desirability Rank Import pop-up window, click Approve Import to apply the changes.
The Desirability Ranks are applied to the listed units. Each unit now displays its assigned Desirability Rank on the Unit Setup page.
